Bergman Satires: Screaming Sonata and Trials of a Knitter

A pair of films that follow the experience of women in wait of Death, after having met her. Both use light satire of Ingmar Bergman's greatest works to comedic effect, whilst paying homage to his art.

In satirising Bergman, we honour his work. Hüt de Het Sonat (Screaming Sonata) and Rättegånge Av Knuter (Trials of a Knitter) employ a mish-mash of references to his films to construct a deeply religious, dure and silly image of humanity. The made-up language attempts to mimic the beautiful lilting quality of Bergman's Swedish.
